Self-Care Energy Boost

Are you saying to yourself  ‘What is the point?’

Are you wondering how you are going to survive over the winter months?

Are you feeling exhausted? Not just a little tired but exhausted!

Are your anxiety levels up?

Small Ways to Make Positive Change

Sometimes being the best you can be means just surviving. This may be one of those times.

Getting coaching support may seem like a strange thing to do – how could that possibly help?

We get it, seemed like that to us before we started to make the small sustainable changes that benefited our lives.

There are things you can do to keep your mind clear, reduce anxiety and boost your energy levels.

There is a battle within our minds to stay out of negativity. Even those of us who teach this are challenged to keep going when the odds seem stacked against us.

So we go to our ‘mental and emotional’ toolbox for support. We recharge, re-energise, self-care or those things you do to help you feel better.

There are things you can do and coaching is one of them, it is practical and about taking small manageable steps. Small sustainable changes work best!

We lost most of our business in one day this year and had to find ways to support our clients online. Our clients preferred in-person support and that was no longer an option then. We had to learn very quickly how to diversify and keep going. We had to separate our feelings of disappointment and frustration and make an action plan!

Coaching support works for men and women. It is in the allowing ourselves to think differently, to stand strong, to rethink our position, to balance the constant bad news we are hearing right now (no-one is denying this) with the positive future that could be – if we allow ourselves. We do this not only for ourselves but for our families and our wider community.

There are things we cannot change we know this. However there are things we can change. Believe it or not you have options. It is a process.

We follow the ‘news’ because we need to stay up-to-date with what is going on. Do we get stuck there and start to overthink.

How helpful is that? Then we can think of nothing else.

There are so many conflicting opinions about what we should and shouldn’t do.

How helpful is that? Then we don’t know how we really think and feel about the situation and what is best for us.

Back in 2013 there were 8.2 million cases of anxiety in the UK¹ so we are not alone in feeling anxious. The Belfast Telegraph also reported that ‘anxiety, stress, depression and other psychiatric illnesses accounted for the most absences (37.4%) and, within this category, work-related stress accounting for around a third of the days lost’² within the Northern Ireland Civil Service.

Coaching can support you before your anxiety and stress levels become so severe that counselling or therapy or psychiatric intervention is more appropriate.

An online poll in 2018 by YouGov, with 4619 respondents, 74% of who said they were so stressed that they felt overwhelmed and unable to cope. This corresponded to overeating, increased drinking and/or smoking, feeling lonely and depressed amongst other things.³

Coaching can help participants deal with the everyday pressures and work on implementing an individual self-care plan that works for them specifically. It needs to be done before symptoms become so critical that we need other kinds of intervention.

There are pressures on us; young people and the pressure to look the part / fit in and succeed in life and move out on their own, as we get older there are other life changes that can be stressful, there are money worries and caring for others and illness.

A coaching relationship can give you a supporter in your corner to help you reduce anxiety, create a custom-made Self Care plan and work on personal and professional goals in the future. One of the fundamentals in a Self Care plan is raising our energy levels so that we can get ourselves back on track mentally and emotionally. This is a very action-orientated approach – one step at a time, if that is the way you like it. It is very practical as we support you to stay accountable to the changes you want to make.

The Self Care Energy Boost Programme is a 6-week Programme to jump-start your road to less anxiety, stress and overwhelm.

It is about making small, easy changes that have huge impact in your health and well-being over time.
